Ifyou like audio books, it's not a bad way to go. I did audio books first a while ago now I'm reading them on my kindle. If you've played the games, you'll get to see some of the stuff Geralt and others reference in the books, and you'll know more about the characters. I want to be finished with the series before the Netflix show starts.
Its better than your average fantasy, but definitely not the same level as ASoIaF. If you love Witcher 3 and want more Geralt, I say reading The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny would definitely be worth your time. The Witcher Saga is DECENT, but those short story collections are Sapkowski’s best work IMO. -Charles.
Hello everyone. This is probably gonna be the dumbest question on this sub, but still. I’m one of those who have finished “The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt”
Forfull immersion I would play the first two games, then read all the books, and then play the third game. This is because Geralt has amnesia for the first two games and only regains his memories (i.e. all the events from the books) just before the 3rd game. If you truly want to roleplay as game-Geralt, this is 100% the way to do it.
Afterfinishing the books I immediately replayed Witcher 3 and came across a fucking dick ton of callbacks to the books. It made my gaming experience so much better. I’ve read all the books after playing the Witcher 3. If you are a fan of the Witcher series, it is an absolute must to read the books. Just do it. Read every single one.
Thefollowing five books: Blood of Elves, Time of Contempt, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of Swallows, and The Lady of the Lake, are complete novels and move chronologically through the saga. Geralt and
Ithas been ten years since Season of Storms, the last book in Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher saga was released. It served as a midquel between some of the short stories seen in The Last Wish. And before that, in 1999, Sapkowski released The Lady of the Lake, the ending of The Witcher saga. Since then the author has made comments
Sapkowskihas a very dry, almost sarcastic style of writing and the English translation cuts it by half, at least. Some passages that in Polish make me laugh out loud, in English sound just matter-of-factly. And then Sapkowski has a great talent of changing the narration style to, for example, very emotional, and that also loses its impact in
Asmany others have said, you will definitely enjoy this game. I also played the first two games in order, but I only started reading the books after Witcher 2. The only regret I have is starting Witcher 3 before finishing Lady of the Lake. The Witcher 3 slightly spoiled the whole Emhyr var Emreis twist in Lady of the Lake for me.
Thewriters and staff on The Witcher had to read all of the books, and had to appreciate/enjoy the genre. But I specifically didn’t seek out ten Sapkowski scholars.” I’ve read the books after I finished the show and I can understand where the complains are coming from especially the missing opportunity of Geralt’s and Ciri’s meet
Allthings related to The Witcher - books, games, TV You name it. The Witcher is a critically acclaimed fantasy book series created by Andrzej Sapkowski. I just finished the witcher 3, the base game with no DLC, and i kind of feel done with the game. I'm not sure if I'm going to pick up the DLC and I think il be happy with getting the
Fansof the books should be relieved to hear that Hissrich and her team intend to do it justice. If you’ve finished the show’s first season and don’t think you can
Bloodof Elves. Time of Contempt. Baptism of Fire. The Tower of the Swallow. The Lady of the Lake. When it comes to figuring out how to read The Witcher
no the tvshow is based on the books. you can read them just like people read a song of ice and fire books before watching game of thrones. but you could still watch and enjoy GoT without reading the books. The first season of the series is an adaptation of The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny collections, though how faithful an adaptation it
