The Sabrent DDR4-3200 So-DIMM units are an excellent upgrade path for laptops and mini-PCs. We saw reliable performance from the two 16GB modules we tested. They are attractively designed, with a black PCB and heatspreaders, and offer a good warranty with registration. Overall, this memory is a solid choice for upgrades. 3200Mhz is going to have a significant performance upgrade over lame 2666Mhz memory. It very clearly does. Speed matters, and it is utterly pointless and stupid to go anywhere below 3200Mhz when a decent 2x8GB KIT of DDR4 at 3200Mmhz CL16 can be bought for around $60. CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory. I got this formula from another website but I'm not sure about how accurate it is. It seems to indicate that the RAM with 3200Hz and 14 latency performs better since the calculation is lower. When I was looking for RAM last week, I saw this for $105 or so. Thought it was a good price for 32GB but after searching previous posts about this, some people said that it might not be able to hit 3200MHz so I went with the ballistix instead for a little more.
Looks like maybe 5% more perf in certain games, zero in others. I'm basing that on the 2 kits that are 3600 Mhz. One with loose timings versus the other with tight timings. Ryzen 3000 and better also likes 3600 Mhz RAM. As you can tell by the first picture. 280 fps instead of 270 fps, is that worth paying 125 $ for? View full post.
The HyperX FURY DDR4 RGB we have comes with the Hynix DJR memory ICs that we first encountered in the KLEVV memory. However this is a dual-rank configuration to accommodate the higher capacity. There are also 16GB sticks out there with 16Gb memory ICs in a single-rank configuration, so your mileage may vary. But then again, YMMV is applicable
