I am currently using a Macbook Pro 15" Mid-2015 and I got the battery changed at an Authorized Service Provider this week because my cycle count was over 1000. However, when the new battery goes down to exactly 20%, the computer shuts itself down. When it happened, I powered it back on and the battery flashed as 20%.

No issues. In the 15" the transfer is 2,9 gb/s so 980 pro or evo make sense. The minimum os is high sierra 10.13. yes, you need to upgrade on the stock drive. Just install monteray and than install high sierra or mojave on the mvme if you want to. but the firmware will be the highest.

My battery was swollen on my 15” 2015 and they quoted me $550 for the repair. I spent an hour or so on the phone with a senior rep because it was supposed to be just $199. Turns out they needed to charge more because the swollen battery might have damaged other components. So I bought a battery off ifixit for $110.
